Introduction

A Mortal Khorne build centred around priests, prayers and Slaves to Darkness units.

Built within Goretide which makes the Lord on Karkadrak a beast and gives the whole army reroll 1’s to wound when wholly within 12″ of an objective.

The 2 Slaughterpriests and 2 Chaos Warshrines can chuck out a total of 9 prayers / judgements each turn, coupled with the Lords command ability and the Bloodstoker buff the army can benefit from:

+1 to hit and re roll charges

+3 to run and charge with re roll wounds

+1 to save

Re roll all hits and wounds

Re roll 1’s to hit and re roll charges

Re roll saves

Re roll wounds

Battleshock immunity

Spread those buffs around in the right places at the right times and they will go off.

The 5+ mortal wound ignore on the knights and the lord really helps with the mortal wound chip damage around.

Coupled with the additional 6++ as an AOE bubble from the Chaos Warshrines.

Allegience Ability

Bloodtithe generation and management is the key to this list; learning when to use the abilities or summon.

Strong anti magic runs through the list and the strength of the prayers cannot be underestimated. Your opponent cannot impede or shut down the prayers – thats massive.

Artefacts, Command Traits & Abilities

Chaos Lord on Karkadrak with Hew the Foe and Thornbreakers Torc gives him a 3+ ethereal save and pumps up his attacks (not the mounts) to 5 attacks 3/3/0/3 and 3 attacks 3/3/-1/D3+1 making him a real threat. 

His command ability gives +1 to hit and rerollable charges on the 10 Chaos Knights making their lances much more reliable

The Bloodsecrator is a key piece so The Brazen Rune offers him a 2+ save against mortal wound damage from spells. 

Heroes

The heroes really make this list tick. Chaos Lord on Karkadrak is a beast in combat, fast, killy, resilient and can soak up all those sweet buffs. The Slaughterpriests, Bloodsecrator and Bloodstoker are all there to buff the crap out of the units and there are chances of 2D6 mortal wounds at 16″ range from Bloodboils.

Standard Gore Pilgrims, extending out that banner range to 24″ for that sweet +1 attack/ reroll succesfull casting

Hexgorger Skulls, redundant in some match ups, devestating in others. Kroak + Nagash i’m looking at you.
