Introduction
So AoS moved to a new edition and I jumped at the chance of developing a new list. So with a heavy heart I retired my 4x Monsters Undead List and grabbed the FW bloodthirster model that’d been sat in my loft, unloved for years. My aim was to fit and least 2 other Bloodthirsters into my list, keep the list as pure daemon and fit the theme of a fast moving Legion loosed by Khorne. So naturally I went with Karanak and Flesh Hounds. Now down at the South London Legion I am surrounded by top top quality gamers who regularly do well at tournaments and who love to write filthy lists. So I decided on a 2 drop list to stick it to ‘em!!
Allegience Ability
Bloodtithe points being a precious resource indeed for my list and it’s relatively low model count. So I was pretty happy to find in my first few games that getting to 7BT points by the end of turn 2 is pretty regular. Thus allowing me to summon in bodies – namely Bloodletters – ideally in 20s
Artefacts, Command Traits & Abilities
My reasons for taking both formations is for the 2 drop ability AND giving me access to a 3rd artefact – which is crucial in the scenario where wizards or hero’s with artefacts can score!!
So the command abilitys are pretty handy as the Wrath makes a thirster quicker, the Insensate makes a thirster more likely to roll a successful charge and the Exalted allows them to pile in from 6” away and pile in upto 6” thus avoiding start of combat phase abilitys such as Idoneth Eels etc…
the Command Trait allows the Insensate to reroll all failed hit rolls which is super helpful
artefacts:
ghyrstrike giving +1 to hit AND to wound on the Insensate is HUGE!!
crimson Crown giving extra hits on a 6 is very helpful especially as the Thirsters will all be in range in most scenarios.
deathdealer on the Exalted makes his axe fixed damage 4!! Brutal!!
Heroes
Just Karanak left to mention here and with a potential for a free summon of 5 extra Flesh Hounds is a bargain at 90pts. Crucially he also fulfils the requirements of the Bloodhant battalions
Battalions
Council of Blood allows the Bloodthirsters to all use their command abilitys once each turn at no cp cost. As well as potential for hero phase melee
BH is primarily used to give Karanak and the Flesh Hounds extra movement in the hero phase.
Magic, Endless & Realm Spells
Well ANTI magic is pretty strong as the Hounds can unbind, Karanak and the Wrath. Plus bloodtithe points for an auto unbind.
Secondary Objectives
Had to deliberately spell some words wrong this is an a used instead of a u
