Would you like to see this army on the table? Well you can @

On a rainy night in shyish Arkhan and his retinue are perched on a cliff side overlooking an ancient battlefield strewn with the dead from a thousand battles. Soldiers, Warriors, Knights and Kings have all found their final rest here at the end of a sword. Burial mounds and barrows of the dead stacked on top of endless tombs and mortuaries lost in time clutter around the edges of the vast plain stretching out as far as the eye can see.

Dispatched by Nagash himself to remind the locals of who holds ultimate power over the souls of every living being Arkhan speaks a single word into the shroud of night. Raw amaranthine power starts to coalesce like fog rolling across the mounds of the dead. As Necromancers chant rites of summoning Vampiresses share chalices of empowered blood and from the endless barrows the dead begin to rise.

This is my tournament ready death list. Centered around Arkhan and the Lords of Sacrament battalion this list focuses of debuffs, survivability and denial. I often think of it as a Blue/Black Magic deck. There are a couple substitutes that I sometimes toggle for this list as well they are:

  1. Remove 1x Wight king add Endless spells:
    1. Geminids
    2. shackles
    3. palisade etc…
    4. y’know whatever floats your goat!
  2. Remove 1x Vampire Lord/Lady, Add endless spells
    1. Geminids
    2. shackles
    3. palisade etc…
    4. y’know whatever floats your goat!

I like simplicity so I usually run this list without the extra magic but it can be really helpful.

Allegience Ability

  • Mini Nagash

  • these are the real killers of this list

  • This is your deepstrike
  • 1 command point to give +1 atks to a unit.

Other Units

  • Acts as a nice bodyguard for Arkhan…. I guess…

In-Game Guide

This army is an all comers list with lots of different options of how to play it. There are some core mechanics though.

  1. The Skeletons are your anvil keep both necromancers within 3″ of the unit (one one each “end” of the unit)

Again this rundown is a work in progress. please leave a comment if you think I’ve missed anything or am wrong about something.

My Bio:

Have been Hobbying for ages, started finally playing a little more than a year ago. I play Death (LoN and LoS) and Kharadron Overlords.

You can find me as a regular guest on Mini War Gaming's AOS series, usually playing Death but, have been branching out and practicing with some mixed order lists lately.

Gaming style:

Generally I would say that I am a "Controller" type of gamer, but recently I have started to veer towards "Quickie".

  • “So because of all those debuffs, you can’t hit me” Cool, calm collected and they wake up in the morning hoping to make it rain on your sunny day. The aim of these players is to make you not play your army the way you want to or had planned to. While this is a very viable tactic, it's frustrating to play against and we imagine a sick delight to play as. Just be aware it won't get you many favourite game votes and knowing what units to control will require a lot of planning ahead of time and some good system mastery.

  •  “I alpha strike, then I either win or I hit the bar” Some players just don't want 2.5 hours of intense tactical decision making, to see every dice roll as a key part of a rosetta stone of decision rubrik and that's totally ok. You want a fun game and a low impact weekend. All the gamble of this playstyle happens in army selection. You go for the win in the early turns.

Event Results:

I have been to several tournaments and have lost all but my very first game... So y'know... I'm obviously a fantastic source of strategic advice.

Most of my playing experience actually comes from Making Battle reports with Mini War Gaming, for their AOS series.
