Ambush, herdstone, creatures of the storm, bloodgorge and primordial call all allegiance abilitys are used in this list and each one is useful.
Artefacts, Command Traits & Abilities
Artefacts: Mutating Gnarlblade
I put this artefact on my beastlord which turns him into whirlwind of blood and gore! a very useful source of damage on a small footprint.
Artefacts:The Knowing Eye
This Artifact helps you out with those elusive command points that are used for not only saving your troops but also you need as many as you can get to feed to the troops for that handy Gavespawn attack buffs.
Command traits: Unraveling aura
This trait is a must have because you have taken the gavespawn greatbray… However i find having it on a Beastlord who can be near the opponents side of the board so you can still have a ok dispell coverage.
Command Ability: Propagator of devolution
This ability can turn your units from average to amazing with just one or two command points. just remember you have to choose at the start of combat so choose what units you are going to buff wisely.
He is your scalpel get in there remove a hero or a small unit to make way for your units. He can put out a surprising amount of damage with 6 attacks at -1 rend 3 damage rerolling hit rolls of ones! And just when your opponent thinks he got rid of your beastlord you can come back as a spawn to give out more buffs!
Now you have 2 bray shaman in this list and both have a roll to play. the first one with the artefact and strangle thorns spell is your much needed herdstone caretaker having the job of calling out the next ungor to be sacrificed. Your other Shaman is used as a buffer/debuffer the ability to hand out +3 movement to your brayherd units to increases their threat range with the addition to pull the enemy off objectives and debuff their Armour your bray shaman may be the key to most of your opponents headaches… love these guys!
This guy works in conjunction with your dragon Ogors to buff their attacks and slow down the opponents biggest threats. this guy can also help out with some damage as well if needed. early game just throw out a hailstorm or two and when you get into the fray you can buff your Dragon Ogors with some lightning!
these guys are the ones you want dealing anything with a high Armour saves being sequestors or anything similar. Bullgor benefit the most from your command ability making their 4+ to hit much less of a problem when you have lots of attacks!
These guys are the best for a reason! they super fast and hit hard. these guys are good for clearing units with 10 or more models making them get +1 to hit and they have a nice ability to re roll ones against order. i use the small unit to clear chaff and the big unit can take on the units threatening objectives.
Dragon Ogors (Anvils)
Dragon Ogors are a highly mobile anvil unit with 5 wounds each with a respectable save and attack profile there is nothing i dont like about these guys. I use these guys to help out where needed having such good movement i can put these guys wherever needed and can expect them to hang around for a good while. keep that shaggoth in range for his buffs and you can dish out some damage too.
Ungor raiders (ranged)
These guys are the little heroes in my list! they can ambush in within a table edge with any soft targets being wizards, monsters or even just a chaff unit that is in the way. they come in with 30 shots re rolling ones and twos and if you are within the enemy territory any Sixes explode into extra hits! placement with these guys can be tricky which is why i think 40 can be hard to fit on a table edge.
making your sixes explode to extra hits while on your opponents side of the table making units like bullgors and bestigors more offensive also not just limited to melee it also works on your ungor raiders!
Magic, Endless & Realm Spells
Don’t worry too much if your magic doesn’t go off they are a bonusmost of your army and battle plan is centered around passives and abilities
set your bullgors and bestigors where you want to to take objectives or areas you want to control or take from the opponent. you can set up your ungors in ambush of a deepstrike of shooting. The chariot is a tax for the battalion but u can use it to clear some chaff or use it as chaff. keep your spawn close to ether your bestigor or bullgor don’t worry if it dies you can just summon another one! the aim of this list is to hit fast and hard but dont send something across the table just because you can! set up favourable charges and fights with your ability to run and charge. Your dragon ogors can be used as objective grabbers or anvils. be patient remember you have the herdstone there to help you out if you start getting pushed into your own territory and if you are in their territory you hit even harder because of your battalion. I think this list has the tools to win against most armies but suffers from list that cause -1 to hit. try to use those archers to take out the heroes or monsters causing this affect would be your best bet. otherwise just load up on attacks. this list has lots of command points and lots of ways to outflank your opponent. sometimes summoning in some ungors to pick up some poorly defended objectives can win games! good luck and happy gaming!
