Hello Welcome to the new weekly blog to accompany The Age of Sigmar Stats Centre which we record each Monday on Twitch. The content you see on youtube or as a podcast is a shortened down version. In the live show we discuss combos and trends and so i thought i’d add some off that info into a weekly blog.

Blackout is a yearly event organised by Chris Tomlin held at Firestorm Games in Cardiff, Wales ( a real country )
There were some really well known players at the event but the headline is Christoffer Karlsmose winning the event having travelled over from Denmark. He was on this year’s winning Danish World Championship team.

Bonereapers have a HUGE meta rep at the moment especially on the top tables. There are a couple of reasons. First off it’s easy to produce and really strong.
Most armies we see are the subfaction Null Myriad and that’s because of Seraphon. Null myriad gives a 2+ spell ignore WW 9″ of Arkhan or Boneshaper for everyone except Katakros. Easily the strongest Searphon build is the Kroak Bomb and Null myriad just ruins its ability to play. So it’s a strong counter pick however thankfully for Bonereapers players its also amazingly strong. As a cookie cuter build we almost always see

- 1 x 6 Immortis Guard
- 1 x 5 Deathriders
If there’s a Boneshaper it will be the General and will normally be loaded out like this
– Command Traits: Diversionary Tactics ( Reduces by 3 the enemy’s charge roll when in range of the general )
– Artefacts: Artisan’s Key (On a 3+ can heal 3 wounds twice or return a Immortis Guard )
If the Boneshaper isn’t the General it’ll be the Mortisan Ossifector loaded out like this
– Command Trait: Diversionary Tactics ( Reduces by 3 the enemy’s charge roll when in range of the general )
– Artefact: Gothizzard Cartouche ( Add 1 to wound rolls for attacks made with melee weapons by friendly OSSIARCH BONEREAPERS units wholly within 9″ of the bearer )
– Lore of Primal Frost: Hoarfrost ( Change either the Hit/Wound? Characteristic or Blizzard ( 4d6 Mortal Wounds )
As the event was so large there were 2 other 5-0s both playing Soulblight Gravelords
Andy hughes using a Nagsh build and utilising the Myrmourn Banshees to add to his Anti Magic is a great pick from this list

The 4-1s have some interesting lists and we see some evolving trends. Daughters of Khaine are certainly back. We saw them go 5-0 a few weeks ago and now we have 3 4-1s and while Dan Arnold ( babe ) and Thomas Bastian are running combat snakes and following this trend Michael Wilson is running a great Witch Elf build. While rare as no one ever wants to paint that many. we saw Jeffery Mezurra run a similar list last year and do well with it

However my favourite two lists are a Tzeentch and Sylvaneth List. Laurie H-W ran a frankly amazing Tzeentch list utilising allies and coalition units to shore up Tzeentch weaknesses and putting the first Ogroid Theridon successes out there

Old Town Throwdown
Organised by Gareth e had two heavy hitters take the 5-0s. Not only did The worlds most successful player Gavin Grigar go 5-0 he did it with OBR. However he cleverly added the Regiment of Renown Veremord’s Shamblers

The other 5-0 was the silent violence himself, the pizza box guy, the lame zombie dude and all around legend Tom Guan. Tom insightfully took 200 zombies with 5+ ward save that recycle if slain and stood on some circles
